We look forward welcoming you in Nieuwpoort, Belgium for the J/80 Worlds! But how can you easily get your J/80 to Belgium?
Belgium, and Nieuwpoort especially, is well connected through highways such as the E40 with the neighbouring countries France and the Netherlands. When you enter Nieuwpoort, the route to go the Vlaamse Yachthaven Nieuwpoort for trailer storage and craning is a wide and easily accessible route. Trailer storage in the harbor is included in the registration fee for the Worlds.
We don’t expect any team to fly in their boat, but just in case – there is a cargo airport in the neighboring harbour of Ostend.
For teams coming from Portugal and Spain, a ferry can be a cost-effective option. During the 2023 Worlds in Baiona, several Belgian teams used a transport solution provided by CLdN RoRo S.A. Their cargo ships operate between Porto (Portugal) / Santander (Spain) and Zeebrugge (Belgium) – see Sailing Schedules | CLdN. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We can also connect you with transport services that can arrange the transfer from Zeebrugge to Nieuwpoort and back (1 hour drive).
